Description

The 777589-32 PXI-8320 is a member of the MXI-2 Series, a 32-bit 3U style CompactPCI compatible module Circuit Board that connects the user’s PXI/CompactPCI-based PC specifically to the MXIbus. Despite its Obsolete Status, the PXI-8320 can still be purchased and repaired through Apex Waves, offering a locally available termination option for ending the MXIbus signals on the interface board.

The 777589-32 PXI-8320 (Part number: 777573-01) is a member of the MXI-2 Series. This 32-bit 3U style CompactPCI compatible module Circuit Board plugs into one of the peripheral slots of either a PXI or CompactPCI frame. It connects the user’s PXI/CompactPCI-based PC specifically to the MXIbus and the other way around. The NI PXI-8320 can also work as the MXIbus System Controller and can end the MXIbus signals specifically on the PXI-8320. In addition, the user can introduce up to 16 MB of locally available DRAM on the NI PXI-8320 that the board can either impart to the MXIbus and VXI/VMEbus or use as a committed information support. The PXI-8320 Circuit Board has a locally available EEPROM, which stores default register esteems that are stored at power-on. The EEPROM is divided into two parts: a factory configuration half and a user configuration half, so the user can adjust the client configurable half, while the industrial factory arranged half stores a backup of the default client settings. The factory configuration arrangement is a minimal configuration that can boot the PXI-8320, regardless of the changes made to the client setup. The MXIbus requires that the first and last gadgets in the daisy-chain have an end arrangement. The NI PXI-8320 can end the MXIbus signals on the interface board by utilizing ending resistor networks in single inline packages (SIPs). The user should end the first and last gadgets in the MXIbus daisy-chain. The locally available termination option offered by this model gives the user a chance to introduce or expel ending resistor systems from their sockets on the PXI-8320 board. If the PXI-8320 is supposed to be the first or last gadget in the MXIbus daisy-chain, the user should leave these interior resistor terminators in place.PXI-8320 Obsolete Status has been announced by National Instruments, but the board will still be available for purchase and repairs by Apex Waves.

Shipping Process: We take pride in the way we package your order and spare no cost in making sure that it arrives safely at your facility. In the case of new parts, we are always sure to package the factory box inside another larger box for safe transit. For reconditioned parts we often use Distribution Cache customized packaging that is specially made to protect the products from the bumps and falls present during shipment.

Shipping Options:

Next Day Air Early AM - This service is the fastest overnight delivery option available. For most locations the package will be guaranteed by 8:30AM.

Next Day Air – This service guarantees delivery by 10:30AM and is the most frequently used option for overnight shipments.

Next Day Air Saver – This cost saving overnight alternative guarantees delivery by 3PM the next day.

2nd Day Air – For domestic shipments that would take 3-5 days if shipped via Ground, sometimes having the order in 2 days is a great way to go

Ground – Ground is the most inexpensive shipping option provided. Please ask if we are doing a “free domestic ground” shipping promotion on your order. We often provide free ground shipping on larger orders.

Emergency Courier – At times we can help work with a courier service to get the part to your facility during downtimes scenarios. We prefer that the customer sets up the courier but we can be there to make sure the product is handed off to the driver. Please give us a call to see if this is an option on your order.

Please Note: Products listed as “ships today” can ship same-day if an order is placed before 4PM. For larger drives and motors we ask that notification for same-day shipments be provided by 2PM at the latest. For any products listed as “ships in 3-5 days”, please give us a call to see if this can be expedited.

Question:

What is the PXI-8320 (777589-32) and how does it connect to other systems?

Answer:

The 777589-32 PXI-8320 is a 32-bit 3U style CompactPCI compatible module Circuit Board that fits into a peripheral slot of a PXI or CompactPCI frame. It connects a user's PXI/CompactPCI-based PC to the MXIbus and vice versa.

Question:

Can the NI PXI-8320 serve as the MXIbus System Controller?

Answer:

Yes, the NI PXI-8320 can function as the MXIbus System Controller and has the capability to end the MXIbus signals specifically on the PXI-8320.

Question:

What kind of memory expansion is possible with the NI PXI-8320?

Answer:

The NI PXI-8320 allows the introduction of up to 16 MB of locally available DRAM that can be shared with the MXIbus and VXI/VMEbus, or used as a dedicated data buffer.

Question:

How does the PXI-8320 Circuit Board manage its configurations?

Answer:

The PXI-8320 has a locally available EEPROM, split into a factory configuration half and a user configuration half, for storing default register values and allowing user customization while maintaining a minimal boot configuration.

Question:

What is the significance of the locally available termination option on the PXI-8320?

Answer:

The locally available termination option allows the user to install or remove terminating resistor networks to properly terminate the MXIbus signals in the first and last devices in the daisy-chain, which is required for the proper functioning of the MXIbus network.
